Driver: “Indus?” (I think he meant Indian).
Me: “Niyet” (No)
Driver: “Japan?”
Me: “Niyet”
Driver: “Korea?”
Me: “Niyet. Philippines!”
Driver: “Ah Philippines. Manny Pacquiao, da?”
Me: “Da!”
Driver: “Pacquiao, boxing champion, da!?”
Me: “Da!”
Driver: Kharasho! (Very good!)
They do have an image in their heads of what an Americanska looks like…I definitely am anomaly to them. I am very happy to know that Manny Pacquiao is known EVERYWHERE. General Santos City pride!
